A slightly shorter match report today due the weather forecast and it's lack of kindness in what would only be described as horrific conditions. Swirling wind and hail in bitter temperatures left both teams cold throughout the warm up just in time for the sun to pop out moments after we kicked off.

In a game that was end to end it was the stand in Nalgo keeper who ensured her team would take away all three points as she was vital to keeping Bassett out.

Nalgo had the first opportunity on goal as their winger fizzed in a dangerous ball and fortunately for Chloe she was able to clear away. Alisa then found some space inside the box and let rip on a strike bound for the top corner until the Nalgo keeper thwarted last minute!! Agonisingly close for Bassett who continued to threaten the Nalgo goal. Opportunities fell to Alisa, Daisy, Sienna and Poppy.

Sadly though it was Bassett who were to be disappointed as we conceded 3 carbon copy goals that involved a flat back line and a two horse race that the Nalgo striker was a clear favourite to win.

Bassett continued to pile on the pressure to sneak up me back after going down 3-0 shortly after the restart and as the ball found it's way to Aoife, she had a horse race of her own and sadly her shot was straight at the keeper. Further chances from Maya and Daisy were unable to sneak in and Bass were fearing the worst that today was not going to be their day in front of goal. This was further confirmed when an unexpected clearance from Nalgo was directed towards her own goal and was destined to go in was thwarted at last minute from a stand in keeper having the game of her life!!

Disappointing for Bass but a good individual performances for Poppy who was awarded POTM for her work rate and effort! Hope you enjoyed that shower Pops….
