A 4 star performance for Bass

After a disappointing result last weekend, Bassett travelled to Trowbridge to face a Wanderers side we've previously never lost to. We arrived to a BIG and Bobbly pitch that was certainly going to play a part in the game at some point.

The girls started well and pressed well to force some errors from the Trowbridge defence, an Elsie Goringe shot was only stopped by a save from the keeper (Elsie's first appearance for the team since moving from Wroughton). Sienna was then next to test the keeper who made a good save at her near post. It wasn't long however until Bassett were rewarded as an Alisa corner was turned in by Poppy to claim her first of the game, her initial header down towards goal wasn't dealt with and her second strike found the bottom corner. Trowbridge had efforts on goal but a good defensive display saw them begin to shoot from a further way out which Chloe was able to comfortably save. Halftime lead for Bassett at 1-0.

The second half Bassett began to play with great passing combinations which allowed us to push forward and score the important second. A long ball from Elsie found Eryn who nipped infront of the defender and she was able to play a one-two with Daisy, who drove through and struck the ball through the keepers legs.

Bassett began to pile on the pressure and looked more like scoring, although Wanderers began hunting down as Bassett began to tire on a huge pitch. Fortunately two further goals from Norton-Barrett secured a good win for Bassett as they battled well. Poppy's second came from POTM Daisy as she managed to beat a player and deliver a ball to Poppy on the edge of the box who shots and finishes into the bottom corner again. Poppy's hat trick came In unfortunate circumstances for the home side as again Poppy's shot it saved by the keeper but rolls into the net only for the home lines Women to award the goal.

Final score 4-0 to Bassett and an overall good performance for the girls.
