Royal Wootton Bassett Town's spell at the top of the Wiltshire League Floodlit Division proved to be short-lived after a 3-1 defeat away at reigning champions Kintbury Rangers.
With Bassett having played three more games than both Kintbury and Bristol Manor Farm, they entered the game knowing that nothing less than a win was needed to maintain a realistic interest in the title race.
It was not a night to remember though for Gavin Cook's side as an own goal and strikes from Kyran Barrett and Charlie Adams put Kintbury 3-0 up.
Sam Case pulled one back, but it proved only a consolation as the game finished 3-1 to Kintbury.
With Bristol Manor Farm losing to FC Chippenham Youth, the win was enough to send Kintbury clear at the top of the table by two points
